About the Director
Beverly Gossage, the Director of HSA Benefits Consulting, is a Consumer Driven Healthcare Consultant and HSA specialist.
In addition to training and writing HSA policies for individuals and the self-employed, she helped pioneer them for businesses in Kansas and Missouri. The first small business that Beverly helped with one of these plans was a plumbing company in Lawrence owned by her family. Since that time, she has reduced health insurance premiums for individuals and businesses across the Midwest.
As a consultant and trainer for businesses with self-funded health plans, Beverly advises HR departments in all areas of health benefits, including the plan designs and premium comparisons, HSA contribution levels, anticipated participation percentages, account custodian and TPA evaluation, strategies for mitigating trend in utilization, and implementation of employee benefit education.
When training about HSAs, Beverly goes beyond listing the rules and regulations. Her experience in writing HSA qualified insurance plans and setting up Health Savings Accounts for clients coupled with her education/training background uniquely qualifies her to conduct any forum on the topic. She demonstrates a side-by-side comparison of benefits of a traditional plan versus an HSA plan and contrasts carrier options. Seminar attendees describe her presentation as enlightening and easy to understand.
Beverly has been pleased to assist banks and credit unions in the process of becoming trustees of health savings accounts, giving clients a local option for their tax-free funds.
Due to the increasing interest in HSA plans, Beverly has been asked to speak at numerous workshops, radio and TV programs, and conventions including:

As health consultant and research fellow for the Show Me Institute she has written articles and shared ideas on health reform with Missouri legislators and the governor’s office.
She has testified on bills regarding health policy in both houses of the Kansas Legislature and serves on the health board of the Flint Hills Center for Public Policy.
In April of 2006, President Bush invited Beverly to the White House, one of ten guests, including representatives from insurance carriers, banks, and business owners to participate in a round table discussion on HSAs.
